Not too bad, but not that great
The subject matter could be covered a lot better than this, but it's still eye opening. Part of the problem, I think, was that the director covered too many topics in the film. Though also I think the way he covered the ideas were a little too hysterical at times and detracted from the message. A special note to those who mention the 16th amendment.. You're missing the point, and I think maybe you didn't even watch the movie. First of all, the constitution is not the law. The constitution's (dual) purpose is to delegate powers to the government and also to restrict their powers. It is NOT the law. It only defines parameters for laws to exist. The point made by the movie is that there is no *explicit* law written that requires us to pay income taxes. And it further suggests that through a previous supreme court legal precedent, that the 16th amendment is unconstitutional, but irregardless of that matter, no law has been passed by Congress based on this amendment requiring Americans to pay income taxes. I can't speak to the truth of that as I haven't done the due diligence research necessary to know. But, at least if you get the ideas straight, you'll be sure to understand what he is trying to say in this film. - gatto::matto , posted 02/09/07

Get it out, any way you can
Yeppers-- The cinematography, dialogue, whatevs may not be oscar-worthy, but I sure do think that we would all benefit if this information were more accessible. - Helena , posted 01/30/07

Here's the Law:
United States Constitution:

Amendment XVI

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Support this film
Okay, for me, cinematography, direction and editing, etc. is beside the point! This film is about getting the info out there. It is for making the public aware., not for taking your date for an entertaining evening out. Ask your local theatre to show it. Watch it and re-think your whole life and all the money we've been pouring into a corrupt system.
Then see: Iraq For Sale, and Why We Fight. - ATB , posted 03/17/07

Interesting film - poorly edited/produced
Topics were good. Some of it was lunacy. However, production value was low and they needed some major editing. 3/5. - Luc , posted 01/13/07

not having seen the movie yet....
It is important to have an understanding of the international banking and monetary sytem - especially monetary policy and currency trade however I am not sure this movie completely demystifies it nor does it point to the most critical and problematic features of the system. The mobility of money and investment, responsible for the Asian financial crisis etc...
It is scary to learn that our currency is almost entirely supported by the Chinese and Japanese governments that continue to purchase it - I hope Russo speaks to this
Yes, global homogenization and integration are strong forces in alliance with the continuation of the current international financial system - states and citizens' power are deteriorating under this force - I also hope he breaks down this geopolitical force while chanting for border controls etc.
I also hope some background and context is given for the internationalization of the banking system itself which 'officially' happened under Reagan in the 80s
Can't wait to see the movie and whatever it may bring!
A national uprising against the national income tax and our corrupted leaders? Count me in! - Kathleen , posted 01/10/07

the truth is out there
The Federal Reserve has nothing to do with being federal and there's no reserve. It's a centralized bank cartel, pure and simple. And yeah, income taxes are illegal, but people who fight it still go to jail. Go figure! - Robyo , posted 01/10/07

A very poignant film for our times
If this information is true (the first half of this film), then we can stop paying our income taxes. They're illegal, immoral, and un-Constitutional, not to mention a huge headache. If the second half is true, it means the money that we're handing over is being used to pay for a corrupt system that, currently, has us embroiled in another country's civil war. If our vote doesn't yield results (i.e. the newly elected Democrat-led Congress), then we should just stop paying for the results we are getting. - kvD , posted 01/10/07
